You Set the Scene — ... Frankel: Anonymity Is the New Fame (Autumn Tone) – One of the most overlooked/best kept secrets in the LA scene is Frankel. Michael Orendy doesn’t play out much (unless he’s touring with Earlimart) so people tend to quietly discover him on their own. Following up 2007’s excellent Lullaby for the Passerby couldn’t have been easy, but Orendy does it in a big way. The songwriting is timeless and the production sounds like vintage Elliott Smith. Fans of literate singer-songwriters need to pick this up. ...
